We had heard so much about Pai that we were super excited about our trip to the small town. We planned a three day trip to coincide with Flor’s Birthday, and we couldn’t wait to get going and exploring all that the area had to offer.
While planning the trip to Pai, I envisioned staying in a peaceful retreat in the countryside as I wanted to take in as much of the scenic countryside as I possibly could. A quick google search led me to discover the PaiCome Hideaway Resort – it seemed to have everything that we wanted, and fell into the category of ‘luxury accommodation at an affordable price’ nicely – exactly what we were looking for!
We arrived on the Sunday afternoon, and we received a very warm and friendly welcome from the resort manager, Mr. Chin. He was extremely informative about the local area, and I could tell that his work and his guests is something he feels very passionate about. He truly is an all-round nice guy who knows how to treat his guests properly!
The resort itself was somewhat captivating. The grounds were remarkably big and impressive, with a 360 degree view of the beautiful mountains that surround the area. We loved the scenery so much that we spent a lot of time lounging about by the pool just taking it all in. The entire area is immaculately kept, and we enjoyed strolling around the grounds both in the early morning and early evening time.
The resort is just a few minutes ride from the center of Pai town itself. It’s location was not an issue at all and we quite enjoyed the spin from the resort into the town, there’s lots of nice things to see on the way too so it’s a good idea to have the camera at the ready – at all times. If guests do not have their own transport (motorcycle, bicycle or car), Mr. Chinn obliges them by dropping them into town in his customised vehicle. He’s very hands on and is available at any time of the day or night, it’s nice to know that there is always someone available to help you, should you need it.
Breakfast was served from 8 until 10 in the morning and it was really delicious. There is a wide selection of options to choose from including fresh fruit, various breakfast cereals and any style of eggs (cooked fresh by the chef), and the fresh coffee was just divine!
The resort is made up of 8 superior rooms, 22 deluxe rooms and 6 junior suites.  Regardless of what option guests choose to stay in, each room is kitted out with modern facilities that are designed with both comfort and style in mind. Our bed was huge (a whole 7ft wide!), and it was super comfortable – which is a rarity when travelling in Thailand! We were extremely happy with our room and longed for nothing during our stay. We were even given slippers to prevent our feet from getting cold while walking on the floor – Mr. Chinn thinks of everything!!
If you dislike loud noise and interference, and prefer a more relaxed and naturalistic environment – you’ll certainly love PaiCome Hideaway!
We fully intend on returning to Pai someday, and when we do, there is no doubt that we will pay Mr. Chinn a visit again. We are already looking forward to spending some more time at the beautiful and unforgettable PaiCome Hideaway Resort.
