Miami

Miami, Florida is a wonderful place to visit any time of the year. In December, the beaches feel like July weather and the nightlife is always bumping!

If you’re trying to decide on when to go, it really depends on the type of vacation you are looking for. If you choose to go during the peak season with its perfect weather, expect packed beaches and heavy traffic. If you choose low season, you’ll find cheaper fares and emptier beaches.

It’s not a surprise that when the northern states of the U.S. get cold, Miami tourism and crowds heat up. The season, referred by locals to Miami’s peak tourism months, runs from January through April. During the months of June through September are usually the quietest months, but Miami receives many travelers nonetheless.

Since the season brings many travelers, make sure that if your travel plans can only be for these months, book well ahead of time and expect expensive hotel costs, long waits, and crowds in many of the places you plan to go in Miami. Typically, weekdays are less busy than weekends, no matter what the season.

Saving

Since many of us have stressful jobs working long hours or even just struggling to find a balance between home and work life, a well-deserved break can be just what the doctor orders. Financing, however, can be another issue. But the problem doesn’t have to stop there.

Personal loans are a wonderful way to book that trip without feeling guilty of spending your savings or playing catch up with your wallet. Personal loans often have lower interest rates than most credit options and, because you borrow a specific amount upfront, you will find it simpler to stick to your financial travel plan. Use an online loan calculator to compare your options!

Booking

On winter weekends, many hotels are already sold out months in advance. The best advice is to book as early as you can, especially if you are trying to meet certain budgets, or you have a specific property, or area in mind. If you book enough in advance, the price will more than likely be in your favor. There is a small chance you may be able to get a last-minute booking in the season, but very unlikely. If you are wishing to try out your luck, you’ll be better off trying in the off-season!

Weather Information

Miami’s warm weather year-round is obviously a big reason for its tourist popularity. The highs are almost always in the 70s and 80s and even on cloudy days, a hat and sunblock are still needed to prevent sunburn. Fare warning, humidity is worse in the summer months and can be a surprise to travelers used to dry heat. June sees the most rainfall, so be careful not to book if you’re planning on spending your days in the expected sun.

While Miami is a beautiful tropical destination, it is set in the hurricane area of Mother Nature making Miami at risk for hurricanes and tropical storms between June 1 and November 30. If you are planning on visiting during these months, be sure to purchase travel insurance to cover you in the event of a hurricane. Also, make sure to check the weather forecast frequently prior to departure!

Closure Information

The beaches of Miami are open for activity year-round, as are the hotels, restaurants, and many attractions. However, due to hotels and their upgrading of properties to compete with surrounding hotels and modernization, you can expect closures for renovations during the slow season.
