Heading to Cornwall? Check Out These Holiday Hotspots

Cornwall is without question on of the most beautiful locations in the wheel of the British Isles. This southern English county has its own identity, stunning natural landscapes and lots to offer from a tourist perspective. If you have decided to head to Cornwall this year then it is important that you get your selection just right in terms of where you plan on staying.

There is something for everyone in Cornwall depending on what kind of break you are looking for, and this is why it is important that you make the right choice in terms of where to seek accommodation. We have rounded up some of the most beautiful spots in this coastal county, to help you decide which is the best place for your trip, let’s take a look.

One of the biggest draws of Cornwall is the scenic towns which you will find throughout the coastline, quiet and quaint spots which offer plenty to the tourist looking to get away from it all. One such town is Fowey, a small town parish which sits on top of the mouth of the River Fowey, that leads into the English Channel. There are lots of beautiful little holiday cottages in Fowey which are central to the town, but feel a million miles away from everywhere. Despite its small size, Fowey is enveloped in history and culture which, when coupled with the breathtaking scenery, makes this the perfect place for a Cornish getaway.

St Ives

Almost at the bottom of the county, and indeed the country, sits St Ives, the jewel in the crown of Cornwall and arguably its most beautiful location. This small town would not be out of place on the French Riviera or a Greek island such is the turquoise waters, the balmy temperature, and the way of life. St Ives was actually awarded the prize for best UK seaside town in 2007, and when you visit, it is easy to see why. If you stay here you can look forward to hiking long coastal trails, spotting marine life, watching the trawlers bring the fish in and relaxing in boutique cafes as the sun sets. If you are looking for somewhere that is very special indeed, St Ives is the place for you.

Padstow is the epitome of a quaint harbour town, and it is both lively and relaxing in equal measure. The town has become dominated in recent years by the fresh seafood restaurants, which are the best in the county from my point of view. There are holiday cottages and vacation rentals scattered in and around Padstow, and you can use this beautiful town as a jumping off point to visit other parts of the county. Great views, a bus harbour and some of the finest seafood you have ever tasted, make Padstow the ultimate choice for a destination, for this that are looking to explore Cornwall.

There is so much to enjoy about this county, you are going to have a wonderful time.
