Have you ever had the experience of staying in a top class luxury hotel and felt like you never wanted to leave? We recently felt this way during our stay at the Banthai Beach Resort and Spa Hotel in Phuket.
Located right in the heart of lively Patong, the hotel is nestled in a quiet and peaceful area that looks out into the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea. It has everything on its doorstep and is an excellent location for those that want to explore all that beautiful Patong has to offer.
The hotel has 290 rooms all of which are charming and elegantly designed. They cater for groups of all sizes and have the following rooms available: Superior Room, Deluxe Room, Deluxe Pool Room, Superior Suite, Deluxe Suite, Grand Suite and Villa Suite.
The resort has three attractive swimming pools with swim-up bars that serve some of the best cocktails around. It has an on-site Spa that offers exotic therapies and massages, you’ll be left feeling  stressfree and rejuvenated after a visit to the Spa. We opted for the hot stone massage which was just absolute bliss. The staff was very kind and gentle, they were highly trained and very professional.
Other on-site amenities include a state of the art fitness centre, sauna and steam rooms, jacuzzis, a top class restaurant that serves a wide selection of delicious foods and they have three stylish and trendy bars to choose from (the cocktails are amazing!)
From the moment we arrived at the hotel until the moment we left, the service we received was second to none. The check in process was so easy and the staff behind the counter were friendly and gave us a heartfelt warm welcome. A nice touch was the hot towels and cool refreshing drink that we received while waiting for our room key.
We stayed in a deluxe room, and it certainly lived up to our expectations. The room was very spacious, spotlessly clean, had a large king size bed, a flatscreen TV, a chill-out leather sofa and a gorgeous view of the pool from the sizable balcony. Likewise, the bathroom was quite spacious, really clean and had a large polished bath tub. Nothing in the room could be faulted.
As they say, it’s the little things in life that make all the difference , and this is exactly how we felt during our stay at Banthai. After about ten minutes of arriving into the room, a young guy came to the door and presented us with a massive fruit basket as a welcome gift. It was a lovely gesture, and he showed us to the wardrobe where there was a pair of flip-flops each and an accessory bag all of which we could take with us when checking out. The maid service in the hotel was impeccable and they cleaned and serviced the room to a very high standard every day. They even took the time to place fresh flowers on the pillows and make animal shapes using the towels. After a day spent soaking up the sun at the pool, it was lovely to come back to a squeaky clean room with a little elephant sitting on the bed!!
I have to give the breakfast buffet a mention also as this was one of the best buffets I have ever eaten at. It had everything you could possibly imagine from fresh fruit, breakfast cereal, crispy fried bacon, freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious pancakes and freshly brewed coffee. The chef would even cook the eggs the way you like them right there in front of you while you wait, he cooked the best omelette I have ever tasted! It was great having such a wide selection of tasty foods to choose from and it set us up nicely for the day ahead.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience at the Banthai Beach Resort and Spa. We came to Patong to look for a luxurious hotel at an affordable price, and that’s exactly what we found. Even though the hotel has one of the best locations in Patong, it is a little paradise that is secluded away from all the hustle and bustle. We have fond memories of our stay and it’s definitely somewhere we will return to some day.
