How to get around Universal Orlando like pro

Universal Orlando used to be looking on as Walt Disney World became the hottest ticket in town, but the times they are a changing. Universal Orlando now boasts the hottest attraction in Orlando, Harry Potter has come to town.

The good news about a visit to Universal Orlando is that it doesn’t take as much prior planning as Disney, but some planning before you visit is essential and it’ll guarantee that you get the most out of your time there.

If you’re planning to visit some of the Orlando attractions then we’ve put together a great list of tips and advice that will help you and your family to have the trip you were hoping for.

Stay the night

The hotels on-site at Universal Orlando are some of the best that you will be able to find in town, the best part is that if you stay the night you will get an early admission pass for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – this is a major plus point. On top of that you will be given unlimited express passes – they can end up costing more than the price of a room if you’re a family of four.

Head to see Harry after lunch

The first thing all visitors do when they walk through the gates is make a mad dash for Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley. Once there the queues will keep the rides busy right up to late in the morning. I advise heading for other popular rides before heading to the Wizarding Worlds once the crowds have thinned out.

Keep some cash for signature snacks

There are plenty of signature snacks for you to enjoy in Universal Orlando; Butterbeer, Lard Lad donuts and Duff beer are some of the many on offer. Make sure you save some cash so that you can taste the delicious treats – remember they’re not cheap but well worth the price and your kids will absolutely love them.
