While looking through holiday brochures or browsing the internet, we’ve all come across the picturesque images of amazing beaches and luxury hotels that make us want to hop on the first flight out of the county!!
We were lucky enough to have recently spent three nights in one of these hotels. Its name: Graceland Resort and Spa.
This four star hotel is situated right across the road from the world famous Patong beach. Its location is excellent and even though it is so centrally located, it is nestled away from all the hustle and bustle of Patong. Everything we needed was on our doorstep.
People often say “the hotel had everything you could want†and this is truly the case with The Graceland Resort and Spa.
The list of amenities and facilities that this hotel has on offer is truly mind-boggling. Here are just a few of them: a beauty salon, a car rental service where the car comes with its own driver, 3 amazing swimming pools, a kids club and babysitting service, Jacuzzis and saunas, on-site bars and a total of six restaurants, a fitness centre, a snooker and pool room…and if guests get around to sampling all of those, they can spend an evening bowling in the eight lane bowling alley!! (Yes, the hotel has its own bowling alley!!) It really does cater for everyone and I can’t imagine guests ever complaining about lack of facilities or services.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get to sample everything that the hotel had to offer as we only had a three night stay. However, we did avail of the massage services in the spa (highly recommend the aroma massage), we ate in the Bar and Grill Restaurant where we sampled some local Thai specialties and we spent the days lying by the sky pool overlooking the white sandy beach of Patong. Was heaven!
The sheer size of the hotel is immense with a staggering 600 rooms ranging in size and price. Every single room is designed to an extremely high standard and is fully equipped with all modern amenities. We felt right at home in our Deluxe room and there was nothing we could fault with the room. The bed was super comfortable, the widescreen television had numerous English channels, both the room and the bathroom were spotless and our balcony gave us amazing views overlooking the big green area and the pool.
The hotel has two wings, the Graceland wing and the Sunset wing. Both wings are super chic and stylish with the Sunset wing being the newer of the two. The Sunset wing has an azure pool that winds around the guest rooms so it’s possible to walk out the bedroom door and literally step into the swimming pool. It looked amazing and we intend to sample that next time around.
In the evenings we really enjoyed the journey back to our room, as it involved strolling through the lush tropical foliage that surrounds much of the hotel area. As silly as it may sound, it was like being on a nature trail in our own little world for them few minutes!!
I could ramble on forever about this particular hotel but to sum it up, it is an extremely luxurious hotel with some of the nicest and helpful staff that we have encountered on our trip so far. It doesn’t cost a fortune to stay in this hotel and the value that guests receive is well worth the price tag. It is definitely placed high on my “to return to†list and we hope to get back to Graceland to enjoy ourselves sooner rather than later.
