Best Time to go on the Everest Base Camp Trek

There are four major season in Nepal including Spring, Autumn, Summer and Monsoon, but trekking in Everest or any parts of Nepal is not favorable seasons for all of them, there are two best season for trekking to Everest base camp they are such as Autumn and Spring seasons, Autumn belongs to the month of September, October and November and Spring belongs to the Marh, April and May. Getting to Everest Base Camp

Getting to the Everest trek is challenging if you hate the tiny and scary plane ride, you need to take off from Kathmandu domestic airport by the tinies airplane to land at Lukla airport- one of the most dangerous airports in the world. The flight between Kathmandu and Pokhara is about 35 minutes and it is quite bumpy when it’s cloudy weather and it gets cancelled or delayed during the monsoon season due to the bad weather. The real trekking journey starts up from Lukla once you are landed here at the elevation of 2890 meters. The trekking from the starting point to the Everest base camp takes about 8 days including some acclimatization days. Or if you have a more than 3 week time then you have an alternative way to be in Everest base camp trek without taking a flight from and to Lukla, there is a overland route where you need to take a local jeep or bus from Kathamndu Jiri or salleri, the bus ride from Kathmandu salleri to Lukla takes about 3 days plus on your ride and journey ends at Salleri after coming back from Everest base camp, it will be taken almost 3 weeks to be done the whale trip by overland without taking a s bumpy aeroplane. The trekking trail from Salleri to Lukla is not well maintained and it is more challenging in terms of the ups and downs staircases but the view is still spectacular where you get more time to explore and spend your time with the authentic mountain people.

Foods on Everest base camp has a wide variety including western and local continentals, the foods into the Khumbu valley is quite convenient and it can be served it own hotel where you suppose to spend overnight, the major meal of this route is pasta, Dhal, Bhat, MoMo, Pizza, Spaghetti, soups, breads and many more. However, the taste of the foods might be slightly different than what we used to have in the city but it is still the best. There are some bakeries in the Khumbu area where you can get some corrosion and basic items. 

The accommodation in the Khumbu valley is very basic at the tea house or it is also called a trekking lodge where travelers normally get a tiny pillow, normal bed, normal toilet bathroom, warm blankets and with nice views.

Day 14:Morning flight back to Kathmandu; 30 minutes
