Starting Your Very Own Travel Blog

Travel blogging has become a very interesting sphere for those wanting to live a more flexible and nomadic lifestyle that allows you to travel anywhere around the world and documenting the journey in a digital journal. Many people think that starting a website is difficult and complicated, so I decided to make this guide on how to start a travel blog, so read on and enjoy just how easy starting a travel blog can be.

Get a name

The first step of course is to think of a name and this is probably the hardest of all the steps in this guide. I had to think long and hard about the name of my blog, but the only advice I can give is for it to be simple to write and easy to remember. For example, including things like numbers in the name can get a little confusing. The idea is to make it memorable, so that people can remember the name and go to your blog.

It is also a good idea to have a name that can change and grow with you as a blogger. It is not a good idea to call yourself “the travelling hobo” and then change your niche to luxury hotels later on. It just doesn’t fit and nobody will want to associate with your brand for this reason.

Get a website

This is a relatively easy step and I would highly recommend getting a WordPress website in order to get the easiest and most user friendly experience. The chances are that if you are reading this you are probably not a web developer and you will need something that you can use straight away and is easy to modify. I would also suggest getting your own domain name to add to the authenticity of your blog. This also gives your blog a brand name to build on.

Start writing

The next and most logical step is to start writing your blog, there really is no better time than now to do so. Write as often as you can, or as you like. I think it is a great idea to write on a certain day of the week and this allows you to get a nice rhythm for getting regular posts up. You can also find some other blogging tips here.
