The Belize Barrier Reef is the second largest barrier reef in the world, behind the the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia. While sailing down the coast of Belize this past summer my friends and I were able to do quite a bit of snorkeling on the Belize Barrier Reef. I snapped this picture of my friends snorkeling over the reef from our sailboat at one of our many stops. You can read the official description from the World Heritage website here.
