Uzbekistan – Must see cities

Without questions Uzbekistan is the hidden gem of Central Asia and should be on everyone’s list of countries to visit. Whilst you might not necessarily see the country’s top tourist attractions feature on some of the world famous travel shows, I can assure you that when you visit you are in for an absolute treat! The country is brimming with unique tourist attractions.

A holiday to Uzbekistan means that you will get to see the best sites that the country has to offer. Thousands of tourists flock to the country each year, and it’s no surprise to see why because there are so many famous attractions to marvel at. Uzbekistan major cities are all unique in their own right and you should do you research before you travel to make sure you visit the ones that suit your needs. Here are my top 3:

Tashkent

The capital city never fails to deliver, in my opinion it is certainly the most beautiful city in the country. If you stroll around the city you will find so many beautiful gardens, lush green parks and some fantastic fountains. The main tourist attractions here are the Architectural Complex zengi- Ata and also the amazing Ballet Theatre.

Bukhara

If it’s your first time visiting this great country then I highly recommend a trip to Bukhara. Visitors can marvel over the architecture which dates back as far as the middle ages. The world famous silk road also passes through this marvellous city. Make sure you pay a visit to the museum, galleries and the brilliant theatres.

Samarkand

Samarkand, the historic town can be found in the beautiful valley on the river of zarafshan. Visitors are always surprised to discover some of the most breathtaking monuments that the country had to offer. The best way to really engross yourself in the history of the city is to visit the most well know monuments; Registan Square and the Bibi-Khanum Mosque are my personal favourites.
