Italy is one of the number one destinations in the world. It has world famous cuisine, culture, history and architecture. Italy tours are the perfect way to discover everything this great country has to offer.

So when you’re looking at tours to Italy, here are 5 places you should always have on your list.

Rome

Rome is the capital as well as being our favourite place in the country, so it has to come top of any list. The most famous thing to see here is the Colosseum, the place where the gladiators fought. You might have seen it in movies or in pictures, but nothing prepares you for when you first walk inside – I still remember how I was completely blown away when I first laid eyes on the place. You then have so many other places to see; St Peter Basilique, Plazza di Spagna, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona.

Florence

Florence is the city where the Renaissance flourished, it become the symbol of architecture, the arts and culture, plus elegance in Italy. I would say that two places you must see here are the Piazza del Duomo and Giotto’s Bell Tower. Wherever you go in Florence you will see the majestic Florentin architecture in full flow.

Cinque Terre

In Italian Cinque Terre literally translates as the Five lands. That is because it is a collection of five villages which are all linked together along the cliffs. The coastline itself has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you like hiking then I recommend you head up the train which is called Sentiero Azzurro. It’s a beautiful hike which is not too challenging and lets you take in the city from a great viewpoint.

Venice

It is a city built on a lagoon – need we say more? The city is full of canals, so that means there are no roads or cars. It’s the best place to go in Italy if you want the perfect romantic setting. Take a trip in the famous gondolas and visit the famous bridges for the ultimate couples getaway. We think that the best time to visit is during the spring months because the weather is perfect.

Amalfi Coast

If you want to visit a place that allows you to take in nature, culture and breathtaking scenery then the Amalfi Coast is the place for you. It might be known as a place where tourists flock but don’t let that put you off, because the beauty of the place and the day trips on offer are second to none!
