What To Do In Palm Springs

Palm Springs is an amazing destination to enjoy a unique atmosphere and some sunshine too. I love heading there when I can and there are many reasons why, I wanted to share these with you today, so I hope you enjoy reading more about them. So sit back and enjoy reading about one of the best destinations in California.

Palm Canyon drive

This interesting and scenic part of the city reminds me a lot of Beverly Hills in Los Angeles and has all the best galleries, restaurants and shops that you could imagine. This could just be the most perfect place to base yourself in one of the many beautiful Palm Springs luxury vacation rentals to enjoy all these wonderful sights. Some of my favourite places here are definitely the many great Mexican restaurants and the Palm Canyon theatre.

Palm Springs Art Museum

This is a great museum that focuses on art from the local area, natural history and performing arts. It was once called the Palm Springs Desert Museum and is now housed in a stunning Modernist building. The collection is naturally very beautiful with its eclectic mix of contemporary art as well as the collection of things from the natural world, such as the geology and archaeology. I love the diversity that this museum offers and is one of my favourite destinations in all of Palm Springs.

The Palm Springs Tramway

There is nothing quite like taking in the scenery around Palm Springs and the best way to experience it is the tramway and it is actually the largest rotating tramcar in the world. The ride lasts for 10 minutes and reaches an elevation of over eight and a half thousand feet. The best thing is that if you want to explore more after the tram ride you will be in the Mount San Jacinto State Park and you can hike or camp here and enjoy the wildlife. If you want to you can always just end your trip here and take in the views of the stunning Coachella valley. There really is nothing better than having options!

Coachella Valley Preserve

This is an 880 acre protected area that is very special to get you acquainted with the unique habitat of the Coachella valley. The interesting mixture of desert wetlands and oases is something that you won’t soon forget. The preserve is also home to the endangered fringe toed lizard too and you will be very lucky to see one of these beautiful creatures. If you are unsure of what to do, you could always visit the visitor’s center here to learn more about the area and what to see, but the building itself is also worth a visit if you have already done your research.
