The Dewa Phuket Resort – A Magical Paradise

We’ve all booked accommodation through the Internet at some point or other. Internet marketing for hotels can sometimes be extremely false and misleading, and we’ve all arrived at some hotel in the past and thought to ourselves “this looks nothing like it did on the internet!” This can be disappointing and somewhat of an annoyance as the expectations you’ve had in your head are simply demolished.

I want you to know that this isn’t always the case and some hotels can actually exceed our expectations. We’ve recently stayed in a resort that did just that, and I’ve been raving about it since-I want to share my experience with you guys!

We were looking to stay in a nice area on the North West side of Phuket as we had heard it was a beautiful area of the island. We did a little research into the area and came across the Dewa Resort on Nai Yang Beach. The pictures of the resort and the surrounding area looked incredible and so we went ahead and treated ourselves by booking a few nights stay there.

The Resort itself is located just a few minutes away from Phuket International Airport which makes it extremely accessible for those flying into Phuket. We had our scooter so we travelled on that from Kathu which took just over one hour. The journey was actually quite scenic and fun.

We arrived at the resort and enjoyed a lovely welcome drink of ice cold fruity tea called Rosella tea and a scented cold towel, exactly what we needed! The check in process was made easy and stress-free by the friendly staff members at the front desk. We were extremely lucky as we got to sample two types of accommodation during our stay – a two bed-roomed apartment and a luxury pool villa, both of which were truly amazing.

The two bed-roomed apartment had a beautiful view over one of the two impressive swimming pools. It was furnished to a high standard with all the mod cons that anyone could want: two comfy couches, two flat screen TV’s (all of which had cable), a gorgeous dining table, two bathrooms (one of which had a huge shower and circular bath) and a fully furnished kitchen complete with complementary water, fruit, tea and coffee. I have to give the bed a quick mention here too as it was probably the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in! The place was so clean, comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

And now for the highlight of our accommodation so far – the luxury pool villa! The resort has a total of 34 private pool villas and we were super excited to be staying in one of them!

It’s difficult to put this place into words as it is something that needs to be experienced to really feel how special and spectacular it is.

Each villa offers complete and utter privacy to its guests which is something that can sometimes be hard to get in resorts. The sheer beauty of the villa was breath taking.

A four poster king sized bed, a stunning outdoor bathroom which consisted of a gorgeous bathtub with a separate rain shower and double wash hand basins, a seating sofa area with a large flat screen TV,  a mini-bar and a DVD Player were just some of the luxuries that we were treated to in the pool villa.

Probably the most memorable part of the pool villa was our very OWN PRIVATE POOL!! It was such a treat to have and waking up in the morning and going straight into the pool was just heavenly.

We also had our own outdoor seating area and deck chairs so catching some rays wasn’t a problem. The villa was just perfect and it was a true example of utter beauty and elegance.

Once we entered the villa garden and closed the gates behind us, it felt like we were in our own little dream world of pure luxury. Our stay there was truly special and something that we will not forget in a hurry.

I even got to do some work by the pool as you can see in the above photo! 🙂

A few of the facilities that can be found at this resort is free high speed WIFI, airport transfers, a children’s playroom and minding facilities, currency exchange services, a steam room, an on-site luxury spa with relaxing treatments that are all reasonably priced, a tour desk, a games room, room service, a function room, a restaurant that has a delicious range of foods and a quirky little bakery called “The Bread and Butter Café.” (I highly recommend the salmon bagel and strawberry cheesecake – delicious!)

We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. Lillian is the manager and she is totally devoted to making every guests stay as enjoyable as it possibly can be.

Staying at the Dewa Resort is definitely one of high points of our trip so far and I have a feeling that it will be very hard to beat in terms of the amenities offered, value for money, the beauty of the surrounding area and the sheer luxury and magnificence of the entire resort.
