Sant Joan – Barcelona’s Biggest Party of the Year

(During this post I mention that I didn’t bring a camera along with me. At the bottom of the post I’ll link to some more information on the celebration, as well as a few other sites that have photos of the parties.) I love Spain, and I love Barcelona. Having been on some Barcelona tours on my last visit, I was stoked to be hitting up round 2 this time around. The first week and a half of this trip has been […]

Works of Antoni Gaudi – UNESCO World Heritage Site #8

If you are fortunate to have visited Barcelona, then it is almost certain that you have been witness to some of the most famous architecture in Spain, the works of Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi was known for his mind-numbing uniqueness that went many steps beyond the imagination of architects of his day. The city of Barcelona was fortunate enough to be the playground of Gaudi, and throughout the city and the surrounding areas lie seven structures designed, at least in part, […]

Photos from Toledo – UNESCO World Heritage Site #7

After a night out in Madrid, we awoke just 4 1/2 hours later to set off on our day trip to the city of Toledo. Toledo is a historic city that developed under the influence of multiple cultures and religions, turning it into one of the most unique cities I’ve ever seen. I’m not the only person to recognize its significance, as it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the seventh of such sites, that I’ve visited since […]

It was our first time to Madrid, our first time to Spain, and my first time ever setting foot in Europe! Our time in Spain […]

Five Reasons the Miami International Airport Blows

All of the trips I’ve documented on my site have started with the same thing. A trip to the airport and a flight to a foreign country. Today marks the beginning of what I hope to be a 3 1/2 month trip to Europe, and today started the same way. I made it pretty clear how I feel about the “traveling” aspect of travel in a post at the beginning of my last trip. Today I’m not really going to […]

Top Ten Tuesdays – Things to Do in London

This week’s “Top Ten Tuesdays” post is a guest post by Leon Levy and is on the beautiful city of London. This city is close to my heart, even though I’ve never even been there. In fact, I’ve never even set foot on the continent. Later this week, however, I’ll be flying to Spain, where I’ll spend a month backpacking around, before journeying to London. I’ll spend between two and three months living in the city, making this post extremely […]

Europe Itinerary Part 1 (Spain and Portugal)

Two weeks from today, my girlfriend Danielle and I will be preparing to board our red eye flight from Miami, Florida to Madrid, Spain for the start of what could potentially be a 3 1/2 to 4 month trip. The initial plan right now is to spend the first month in Spain and Portugal before heading north (more on this later in the post) for the remainder of the trip. So, with two weeks left before our departure I thought […]
